Joining the Gateway Affiliate Program

How does the Gateway Affiliate Program work?
As a Gateway affiliate, you offer your online customers the choice of products from one of the most trusted brand names in the PC industry. You simply place links to Gateway products on your Web site using one of our eye-catching banners, logos or text links. When your customers click through and purchase, you earn commissions. It's that simple!

What are the benefits of becoming a Gateway affiliate?

  • It's easy. We'll supply all the graphics and information you need.
  • It's profitable. When customers click through and purchase Gateway products, your income grows. We award commissions (1.5%-3.5%*) on all shipped computer and accessory online sales generated through your site. These referral fees are paid monthly, provided you've accrued US$25 or more in commissions. Additionally, because we realize some purchases are made after several trips to our site, we'll pay you for sales made within 90 days of the date you referred the customer! See more details.

Does it cost anything to become a Gateway affiliate?
It is absolutely free to become a Gateway affiliate. There is no charge to apply and there is no minimum sales requirement.

What are my responsibilities as a Gateway affiliate?
You're responsible for one thing: placing the links and banners on your site that we provide you. That's it! We take care of the rest.

What are Gateway's responsibilities?
We provide you with the tools and support you need to maximize sales from your site. We provide you with promotions and banners that can help drive sales. We also handle orders, shipping and billing for all customers you refer to us. We have partnered with Commission Junction, a leader in affiliate marketing that works with our affiliates for approving applications, tracking sales and issuing commissions.

How do I sign up?
First, complete our online application. After it’s reviewed, you will be contacted to let you know if you've been accepted as an affiliate and, if accepted, will receive information about getting started.

Can a Web site outside the United States be an affiliate?
We welcome affiliates from anywhere in the world. But we will ship products only to customers in the U.S. and accept payment only in U.S. dollars. All commission payment checks to affiliates are in U.S. dollars. For more information, please see our application pages.

I operate more than one Web site. Can I still be an affiliate?
Yes, you can have multiple sites as a Gateway affiliate. You will have one account with us that will include all of your sites and you’ll be paid one commission check, but you can track the progress of each of your sites separately. To set up an account for multiple sites, contact affiliate@gateway.com with the names and URLs of all the sites.

Is it difficult for a Web site to gain eligibility to be a Gateway affiliate?
Most sites will qualify to participate in our program. Anyone with a Web site may submit an application, but we do reserve the right to refuse membership or revoke a site's membership at any time if we deem that it contains objectionable material. Detailed qualification criteria can be found on our application pages.

I don't have a Web site yet. Can I still apply?
Unfortunately, no. We must be able to view your Web site to accept you as an affiliate.

Can I participate in other affiliate programs?
Yes, but remember that more prominent placement generally results in increased sales—so the more prominently you place Gateway on your site the more likely you are to generate sales and thus get commissions. Could becoming an affiliate increase traffic to my site?
By linking to content on the Gateway site, you increase the value of your site to your visitors. This can increase the number of return trips your visitors make to your site.



Setting Up Links To Gateway Web Sites

How do I get information on my account?
Gateway has partnered with Commission Junction, a leading affiliate marketing firm. A password-protected site hosted by Commission Junction allows you to get banners and links, monitor your account and receive affiliate program updates.

How do I create links?
We will provide you text links on your Gateway/Commission Junction account page that you paste into your Web site code. The system is so simple to use that even beginners can create links with ease.

Where should I place the links on my site?
Place links where they are easy for your visitors to find and make sense—your home page, on your site’s navigation bar and wherever the content complements Gateway products. Keep in mind that if you place links in easily accessible locations on your site, your visitors will be more likely to make a purchase.

How often should I update my links?
You should update links to our products frequently. We are constantly adding new products, promotions and banners, so you can create new links that fit the interests of your visitors on an ongoing basis. More information about these features is available once you become a Gateway affiliate.

Can I use your content on my site?
You may use any content we make available through the Gateway/Commission Junction account page. You may not use any other content from Gateway Web properties. Once you are an affiliate, more information can be found on the Gateway/Commission Junction account page.





Tracking, Payment and Reporting

How much can I earn?
How much you earn is dependent on how much revenue your site generates. Gateway offers a generously tiered commission structure that gives you the opportunity to earn 1.5%-3.5%* on all hardware purchases. And we pay you for sales made within 90 days of the initial referral. See more details.

How often do I get paid?
You will be paid on a monthly basis for every month in which your total commission exceeds US$25. If your commission for the month is less than US$25, the full amount you earned is carried over to the next month. Once your commission exceeds US$25, we'll send you a check. See more details.

How do I know how much commission I've earned?
Through the Gateway/Commission Junction account page, you can access reports (updated daily) that provide information on impressions, clickthroughs, shipments and earned commissions.

Do I earn commissions on my own purchases?
Yes. When you buy products from us through your Web site, you earn the same commission on your purchase that you would from a purchase made by one of your visitors.

What about product returns?
If a user returns a product for a refund or if credit card charges are reversed due to a dispute or credit card fraud, your account will be debited for any commission earned on that transaction.

How can I monitor my sales?
You can monitor your sales by accessing reports as often as you like through the Gateway/Commission Junction account page.

How often can I run reports?
You can run reports as often as you wish. The Gateway/Commission Junction account page is updated daily with the latest information about campaign performance from your site.

How do I change my account information?
Once you have been accepted as an affiliate, you will be given access to the Gateway/Commission Junction account page. Your account information can be modified there.

Who processes orders and handles customer service?
We take care of everyone that you refer to our site with the same great Gateway service we provide to our customers. All you have to do is place links on your site. We do the rest.

How will you know that the orders came from my site?
All links from your site to ours contain a unique identifier, so every time a user comes to us via your site we know to credit you when your customer purchases a product from Gateway.
